Meaning of  Population

Population means the total number of people live in any area of a city or country. For instance; the total number of your family members live in your home is the population of your home the same as we count the total population in any area of city or country.

“Population is a group of same species living an interbreeding in any area.”


Members of the population that live in any particular area, are environmentally interlinked and depended on the same resources and availability of other members to persist over time.

Scientists study a population by examining how individuals in that population interact with each other and how the population as a whole interacts with its environment?

Meaning of Demography

Scientists study each aspect of the environment deeply and they named an individual field that deals in collecting and analyzing these numbers in terms of population is “demography”.

                   Demography is a study of the characteristics of the population. It provides the statistical data of any population and defines how those characteristics and over anytime.

Data of Demography

Demographics do not only give the statistical data of the number of people live in any particular area but they also study and expand several parameters: population size, density, age structure, fecundity (birth rate) mortality (death rate).
